The survivability of plants is critical to life on Earth. Plants provide humans with food, air and shelter. They also help to create the atmospheric water that we receive as rain.
But an insatiable demand for 'cheap' natural medicines made from plants (herbs and fungi in the wild) is driving many plants and the ecosystems they support to extinction.
Overharvesting combined with dramatic changes to the climate and the length of time it takes for many plant species to regrow are compounding this decline.
Humans have used plants in the form of medicinal herbs to treat disease and deficiency for millennia.
To help sustain nature for the future, we select herbs intentionally. We do this against a strict policy that we developed ourselves, according to our peers' advice and our moral obligation to the planet's natural resources.
FACT: There are more than 70,000 plants used in herbal traditions and medicine-making, and only 3,000 of those plant species are cultivated commercially.
We cultivate organic mushrooms and herbs on our land and craft them into potent remedies.
About Us
We began farming in the Nambucca Valley in 2013 at Glory Ridge Plantation (aka the Ridge). Our original farm where we grew certified organic mushrooms, fruits and vegetables.
Our passion for farming mushrooms outgrew the Ridge, so the next step on our journey was to create a purpose-built mushroom growing facility on a property in a nearby valley.
Maddrake Mushroom Farm was our second farming enterprise. We continued to grow both culinary and medicinal mushrooms, as well as produce our medicinal mushroom extracts.
Then, Herbal Path Australia grew out of the mushrooms. It was a natural evolution for us.
We both have lived experiences of the gentle potency
and effectiveness of herbal medicine.
Herbal Path continues our tradition of mushroom farming and cultivating medicinal herbs to create our potent mushroom and herbal remedies.

Jahdi and Vanessa established Herbal Path Australia. Together, they are herbal medicine technologists who create potent, plant-based remedies using medicinal mushrooms and healing herbs.

Jahdi is both land steward and technologist of Herbal Path remedies. He bridges the worlds of soil and science. Jahdi ensures the essence of the plant is honoured with scientific rigour and artisinal care from seed to bottle.
